On our way from Stockholm to Berlin we made a short stop in Copenhagen to play a gig at Cafe Retro, a volunteer run non-profit coffee house/bar. Besides the nice atmosphere and people, the cafe brings some good karma as it donates all of its profits to a women’s sewing school in Sierra Leone. At the gig we played our compositions, tangos, and jazz covers. So far we are enjoying the repertoire, which we sculpted down for a couple of months before the tour to make up two sets of good originals and arrangements that are versatile enough to be played in a concert or at a cafe.
After the gig we walked back to our hotel in the red light district–where it felt a little early to be turning in at 3am!
This morning Copenhagen was absolutely FULL of bikes, at least 1,000 were parked around central station. People leave them there to use on their daily commutes. We are now on the train to Berlin ready for our next country, city, gig.
