Concerts
Last week we were in Northern California and Oregon playing concerts in the Cascades. We started off the week with our third performance at the Burning Tango Festival playing Saturday night right before the evening Milonga. Many thanks to all of the enthusiastic dancers.
After the festival, we drove north to Oregon for a set of 4 gigs in 5 days. It was really nice to play so many nights with so few days off. If you are playing every night then you don’t need to practice so much! First we played a house concert in Portland on Peter Zisa’s classical guitar concert series, Casa Della Zisa. After that we headed south to Eugene to play tango for the Tuesday night Bailonga. For the third performance we headed over to the coast to play at the Drift Inn in Yachats. The last performance we headed south to Ashland to play an evening concert at the La Baguette Music Cafe.
Many thanks to all five of the organizers of these events. We would not of been able to do it without you. All of the gigs were repeat gigs! Also a big shout out to everyone who came to the concerts. Without you we would be so lonely.
Trees and Eats
Although we were busy this week we were still able to sample some of the goodies from this beautiful region! We still managed to get to experience the local food: porcini and morel mushrooms, pinot noir, goat cheese, kombucha, greens, hazelnut, pinot gris, strawberries, tayberry, coffee, lingcod etc. We were also able to get a little bit of nature time with old growth douglas fir, sitka spruce, red cedar, and your usual assortment of mountains and ocean. Thank you Oregon, we will see you next time.
