January GO Series with TY Zhang

We’re excited to present guitar virtuoso TY Zhang! You’ll love hearing his glorious guitar playing and seeing his warm, charming presence. We hosted TY back in 2019 when he performed in Grand Rapids, MI for his Guitar Foundation of America tour. Luck would have it that the “polar vortex” came through that week. The concert was rescheduled, so we got to hang out for a week. We ate TY’s delicious cooking, took him skiing for the first time, and sat around philosophizing about music. There are going to be some special vibes coming through from his home in Los Angeles!

Our Folias Music GO Series is a monthly live-streamed concert with Folias Duo alongside musical guests who play fresh, undiscovered, and newly written music for soloists and small groups. We started the GO Series in 2020 to keep connecting with musicians and audiences, and we’re excited about the continued availability of broadcasting technologies for independent artists. The 2021-22 season presents musicians from Chicago, Grand Rapids, Los Angeles, and Detroit who play will play classical, world, jazz, and improvisational-based music.

These concerts are free, but your support is essential for us to keep presenting these concerts. We suggest a $10 – $20 per person donation for the concerts. You can also support Folias Music at the virtual merchandise table.
