We just performed four New Mexico gigs during the first week of our tour. We played for a church recital series in Santa Fe hosted by Linda Raney who has been curating concerts every Friday at First Presbyterian Church for ten years! In addition to an incredible Fisk organ, the all wood sanctuary has fabulous acoustics.
On Saturday we played for a house/tango/birthday party in the Sandia foothills of Albuquerque. Then on Sunday we drove down to Carrizozo, a town just under 1,000 people located 60 miles north of Alamagordo on highway 54. In Carrizozo, we played for a locally curated concert series called Carrizozo Music at a historic WPA building from 1939.
On Monday we played for a milonga in Mesilla with dancers attending from Las Cruces and El Paso: beautiful wood floor, great stage acoustics and super friend/interested audience.
Thanks to all the folks who made our New Mexico gigs great!
