New Mexico Tango 2015

For the first full week of the Viewpoints Tour – West we spent five nights in New Mexico playing four gigs. We had the opportunity to play for milongas in Las Cruces, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque. The New Mexico tango community was supportive of live tango music all around. It was so great to play for such enthusiastic dancers that continued to fill the floors. It was also nice to see people come out to dance to our music multiple nights in a row. Thanks so Leslie in Las Cruces, El Meson and Shahin in Santa Fe and Erskine and Jeremy in Albuquerque.

The milonga in Albuqueque was of special importance becasue it was New Mexico’s first all live music milonga. Albuquerque’s own QTango band shared the night with us. We really enjoyed playing alongside of them as well as jamming with them at the end of the night. It’s a lot of work playing all live music for a milonga, but the reward and energy we got back was more than worth it.
