Viewpoints is the fifth album by Andrew Bergeron and Carmen Maret, showcasing over a decade of their collaboration as a duo. The album features a diverse range of compositions, each inspired by different musical and literary influences. From the desolation and cultural displacement themes of Cormac McCarthy’s “Border Trilogy” to the fusion of baroque and salsa in “Scotch Bonnet,” the album takes listeners on a musical journey. With violinist Christopher Martin’s contribution and influences from Susana Baca’s music and the country of Guinea, “Viewpoints” offers a rich and captivating musical experience.

Recorded May 17 and 21, 2014, in Blue Griffin’s Studio “The Ballroom” in Lansing, MI
