This month, Carmen sat down with Voyage Michigan for their Daily Inspiration series, talking about what it actually looks like to build a life where creativity, art, business, and marriage don’t have clean lines between them. It’s a rare chance to step back from tour dates and album mixes and talk about the bigger picture: twenty-plus years of drawing our own map.

As Carmen put it in the piece, “It’s really complicated being married, running a business, and being artists together.” There’s no single answer for how that actually works day to day. Some of it is instinct, some of it is stubbornness, and a lot of it is just choosing, over and over, to keep going.

Our Last Five Shows Before Great Lakes

We’re living a little of that story again right now. We’re just back from a tour through Germany in May, and this Friday, Andrew and I hit the road again for our last five shows before Great Lakes comes home to Michigan on August 14:

We’re driving and camping the whole way, taking the long way home through Quebec and Ontario before landing back in Grand Rapids for the Great Lakes release show at The Stray on August 14.

Come find us live before then. Music is better beyond the glass of your device.
